About violence and modernity

Posted

How common is to listen the complaints of our modern saviours about the supposed rescue of those aeons full of violence: the Middle Ages were "cured" thanks to modernity. Manifested violence in medieval times are inherent wicked actions of the lack of modernity... ah, but if the same actions were reproduced in those ages of advance and "enlightenment", that violence is just normal and allegedly the needed costs of advancement.

That's one of the most important deceives of modern thought, to believe that in the ruthless denial of the millennium that preceded and produced resides the cure for violent times. It doesn't take long to watch our modern times and realize that violence is as much present, or even more, as in the medieval epoch. Just take a look to every red note at any local or national paper... violence is the trademark of the Middle Ages? Bite me modernity!
